GTA Online has received a new update, and Cayo Perico finally gets some new content! Other than that, a new helicopter is now available and bunkers receive a little love too. Here is everything you need to know about the update.
Rockstar Games has just released another update for GTA Online! In this update, Cayo Perico will receive some more love. You can now play the Assault on Cayo Perico mode!
After countless robberies that drug lord Juan 'El Rubio' Strickler has had to endure, he now calls upon the players – who have probably robbed him dozens of times before – to defend his valuable treasure! Prove that you have what it takes to defend El Rubio's compound, or follow Gustavo's fate and be fed to El Rubio's panther.

This GTA Online update comes just in time to distract us from the ongoing rumors about the release of GTA VI. This also proves that Rockstar is still putting at least some effort into their current GTA game, rather than abandoning it completely. We expect some more support from Rockstar's side in the upcoming months, at least until GTA VI is officially being announced.
New GTA Online PvP Mode: Defend El Rubio's Precious Treasure – Or Steal It Again!
In the new PvP game mode Assault on Cayo Perico, players can now decide whether they want to side with El Rubio or with the robbers. The defenders are tasked with protecting Cayo Perico and El Rubio's compound, while the attackers have to work their way from the airfield over the island to hack a crucial computer terminal.
Until August 16, all GTA$ and RP rewards for Assault on Cayo Perico are doubled. All you have to do to play this mode is to visit the blip near Los Santos International Airport. Do not miss out on the action!
Should you prefer other adversary modes in GTA Online, you will still have a lucky week! The traditional modes Occupy, Extraction and Trading Places (Remix) are making their return to the action.
A New Helicopter And Some New Love For Old Features
Once again, it is a good time to look up to the sky! Sadly, it is not because of birds, an air race or a cloud shaped like a duck. Instead, it is because some random guy in your lobby is probably trying to wipe you off the map using their brand-new Buckingham Weaponized Conada.
To purchase the Weaponized Conada, go to Warstock Cache & Carry. It will cost you a mere GTA$3,385,000. Pocket change, am I right?
Bunkers are also receiving some much-needed attention. Does anyone even remember these?
Should you not have a bunker yet, you can purchase one and upgrade it to 30% cheaper prices over the next few weeks. We would recommend being as quick as possible though, as your sold goods from your bunkers are worth twice as many GTA$ and RP for only one week! Research speed is also doubled during this time, so you can unlock weapon upgrades much quicker!
And for everyone who likes to test their luck at the Diamond Casino Lucky Wheel: you can win the Nagasaki Outlaw this week.
These are the most important features of this week's GTA Online update. We hope to see you in Los Santos City – and maybe even on Cayo Perico!
