GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas are getting a remaster – that's common knowledge at this point. The GTA Remaster release date is not. Now, a leaker claims that the GTA Trilogy Remaster will not be released this year, unlike previously assumed.

If you read us regularly, you know we love GTA. We cover anything and everything there is about GTA. A leak? We're on it. A rumor? Covering it. Speculation? You bet your ass, we're all over it. Point in case, look no further than these links:

Leaker Claims GTA Trilogy Remaster Release Date in 2022

Tom Henderson. The name's been written on this website many times, because Tom is arguably the most prolific and accurate leaker out there. He tweets, we listen. Now, the leaker of all leakers has revealed that the GTA Trilogy Remaster released date will not be October, November or December 2021 like we all assumed.

In a reply to his own tweet, Tom Henderson states that the release date will be sometime in 2022. That sure is disappointing. I was so ready to get back to Vice City and Los Santos. I miss CJ and the homies. I miss my 80s vibes. But, I say this time and time again: Since the Cyberpunk 2077 debacle, I will no longer call for things to be released as soon as possible. I can live with the GTA Trilogy Remaster coming in 2022 if that means that they get the job done right.

If you're wondering why the release date is a bit later: Apparently, Rockstar is simply struggling to put the finishing touches on three remasters. Despite them always being bunched together as the GTA Trilogy, it must be noted that these are in fact three massive games that sure as sh*t take a really long time be fully remastered.

Can you imagine, though? Vice City in 4K? Goose bumps...
