Halo Infinite's multiplayer just went live and is available to be played right now. Yes, we're serious. One month before release we get a surprise launch. Needless to say - we're hyped.
If you weren't already hyped enough about Halo Infinite from the Bethesda/Xbox showcase, or the recent campaign leak, then maybe this will tilt you over the edge: Halo Infinite's multiplayer has just launched in open beta.
You might not be aware but today was the 20th anniversary of Xbox (yep, we feel old too). As is to be expected when these kinds of momentous occasions roll by, Xbox hosted a showcase to celebrate the anniversary. Now over the weekend, there were some rumors that exciting Halo news would be announced at this showcase, but they were just rumors, and many didn't believe them. The doubters couldn't believe that Halo would choose this moment - one week after Battlefield's release, and two weeks after Call of Duty: Vanguard's - to try and grab the headlines. Well, they've done it. Halo Infinite's multiplayer can be played by anyone at this very moment.
Can You Play Halo Infinite For Free Right Now?
This is a beta, so yes it's entirely free, but so is the full release version of Halo Infinite's multiplayer. What fantastic news. The Halo Infinite campaign will cost $60 however, but you can't really complain at them for trying to monetize some of this project. If you go on Steam, the Xbox app, or the Xbox Store (if you're on console), then you'll see Halo Infinite is available to download and play for free right now. The download is 50GB, and here are the minimum specs if you're on PC:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 RS5 x64
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel i5-4440
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD RX 570 or Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 50 GB available space

As if Halo Infinite wasn't already in our good books this year. This is great to see, and hugely encouraging for the grinders out there.
What Platforms Will Halo Infinite Be Available On?
Halo Infinite will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It's only PlayStation gamers that miss out on this beauty. Sorry guys, but what did you expect, this is Microsofts biggest IP after all. For the rest of you, we'll see you out there on the servers!
