The Xbox Series X|S exclusive title Halo Infinite should have been released at the launch of the next-gen console. Negative fan feedback delayed those plans but we didn't know by how much exactly. Developers 343 Industries have now shone light on the timetable of Halo Infinite.
The first gameplay demo of Halo Infinite looked like a lot of fun, but couldn't convince anyone technically, so the release of the Xbox Series X|S flagship title was postponed indefinitely. In an extensive blog post the developers now provide us with the final Halo Infinite release cycle and new details about the multiplayer.
Halo Infinite Coming Fall 2021
Halo Infinite was supposed to be the most important exclusive at the Xbox Series X|S launch, but now Microsoft will have to do with it being the most important release a year after launch? It's... something.
Joseph Staten, Creative Director at 343 Industries, said that there is no concrete release date set, but Halo Infinite is heading towards a fall 2021 release. The postponement at least shows some commitment to fixing the disastrous demo before properly launching the title.
This is also shown by the new Halo Infinite screenshots, which don't have much in common with the graphically challenged July demo.

The Halo Infinite Multiplayer
Halo wouldn't be Halo without its multiplayer mode, so even the very early hints that were given towards Infinite's multiplayer are greeted with excitement.
Thanks to the completely overhauled technology, including improved textures, lighting, and details, Halo Infinite shines in new splendor and is set to run at a constant 60 FPS in multiplayer. Character customization in Halo Infinite also plays an important role. According to 343 Industries, there should be significantly more cosmetic options than there were in Halo 5: Guardians. The new Coating system allows you to design not only the colors of your armor but also its materials, textures, patterns, etc.
343 Industries made it clear once again that Halo Infinite is designed as a live service game and will be regularly expanded with new content over the years. They've promised to listen to community feedback and have started doing that by keeping loot boxes out of the game.
Before Halo Infinite is finally (probably) released in fall 2021, members of the Xbox Insider program will be able to test selected elements of the game sometime next year.
