A dev revealed some inside news on the upcoming Hellblade 2, and we have everything you need to know right here.
A Spanish dev by the name of Juan Fernandez dropped some inside info on Fable and Hellblade 2, and, of course, we got you covered. In the case of Fable, you can read all about it here, and in the case of doubt: This dev is legit, and the reason he worked on both games, is simply because he left Fable due to not wanting to work on large scale projects. Thus, he left the big devs on good terms, and headed on over to Hellblade, where he was already a part of the team that made the first Hellblade. More specifically, Juan was responsible for the design of enemy bosses, combat arenas, AI, camera and navigation. So... yeah, if this guy talks about Hellblade 2, he knows what he's talking about.
Dev Drops Inside Info on Hellblade 2
According to Juan, he and Ninja Thoery are seriously raising the bar with Hellblade 2, and we expected as much, after we first saw the insane graphics. He also mentions that Hellblade 2 continues to do more with less, and since there are more people on the team, that less is insane quality.
One of the changes he specifically addresses is the combat: He, personally, was not pleased with the lack of enemies in the original Hellblade, nor was he happy with the balancing or the difficulty - like enemies having too much health and durability. This looks to all be adjusted for Hellblade 2, bringing much more variety to the game. Juan credits listening to outside feedback as a reason for being able to improve with the sequel. During the original game, the small team didn't have the luxury for as much testing, so, all in all, Hellblade 2 looks to be more of the same, except better in every way. I think everyone that played the original will agree that that's a good thing.
