We have to admit, we desperately want to play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy. After all, what's the Hogwarts experience without it? When I was a kid, the whole Quidditch aspect was my favorite part of the books and films, and after the brilliant Quidditch World Cup game from 20 years ago or so, I would love to have another crack at the Harry Potter sport de jure. But will we get it in the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy?

Quidditch In Hogwarts Legacy

While Hogwarts Legacy leaves almost nothing to be desired, this is one desire we will not get to indulge in. Sure, we can be an evil wizard, and enjoy a myriad of other features, but we cannot play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy on launch. Quidditch was in an early build of the game, but this was axed from development as it was using up too many resources.

It's sad, because the fact we can fly around on dragons and broomsticks as a means of transportation means the game already includes in-air mechanics. That had everybody hoping Quidditch would naturally be included, but... nah. All of this was confirmed by the official FAQ, which goes even further in teasing us what could've been: Broomstick races, and flying classes, are all a part of the fun, but Quidditch... nah.

Now, color me ever the optimist, but seeing how all these features are included in the game, it makes me think that the devs simply want to see how the game performs, before including an entire sports sim. If Hogwarts Legacy does well enough, adding Quidditch as DLC might be well worth their time, and it might just come hand in hand with some multiplayer... who knows? Then again, let's wait until the game releases, before talking about DLC...
