We played Honkai Star Rail's Kafka in the prologue and now she is making her grand debut. If you plan on getting her in your team, check out the following guide to see the perfect build for her!
Kafka is yet another Stellaron Hunter entering the stage of Honkai Star Rail. She is dashing, collected and professional in her line of work. She took the world by storm after she was made available as a playable character in the prologue. Now she's returning and willingly hypnotize enemies for us.
Let's get straight into it!
Honkai Star Rail: Kafka – Best Build, Light Cones & Team Comps
Kafka is a 5-Star character, who follows the path of Nihility, which indicates her role as a control and debuff character. She is a master in taking the advantage by reducing the enemies overall battle power. Because of her ability of hypnotizing people through language, she's a wanted by the Pteruges-V. Element wise, Kafka will deal Lightning damage with her basic attack and her ultimate.
If you're still not quite sure if Kafka is worth your Stellar Jades, maybe her brand-new trailer can help you make up your mind:
Kafka Build: Best Light Cones
There are a lot of good and useable Light Cones for Nihility characters. But the very best light cones for Kafka can be found below.
5-Star Light Cones
Kafka's obvious choice is her signature Light Cone “Patience Is All You Need”. Does it suit her?
Patience is All You Need
- Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 24 %. After every attack initiated by the wearer, the wearer's SPD increases by 4.8 % up to 3 stack(s), with a 100 % base chance of causing the attacked enemy to take 60 % additional DoT DMG for 1 turn.
Since all of Kafka's skills put a DoT effect on enemies, her signature Light Cone could be better. It only boosts the duration and attack of DoT.
The second available 5-Star Nihility Light Cone “Incessant Rain” is a good option but not perfect for Kafkas needs.
Incessant Rain
- Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 24 %. When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy that currently has 3 or more debuffs, increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12 %. After the wearer uses their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, there is a 100 % base chance to implant Aether Code on a random target that does not yet have it and was hit by the ability. Target with Aether Code receive 12 % increases DMG for 1 turn.
You get this Light Cone from Light Cone Event Warp.
The best 5-star Light Cone for Kafka is "In the Name of the World".
In the Name of the World
- Increases the wearer's DMG to debuffed enemies by 20 %. When the wearer uses their Skill, the Effect Hit Rate for this attack increases by 20 %, and ATK increases by 20%.
This one boosts the damage she deals to enemies affected by DoT, while also increasing her Effect Hit Rate and Attack after she uses her skill. And can be obtained through the Starlight Exchange Store.
4-Star Light Cones
There are three 4-Star weapons which are complementary to Kafka. Let's have a look which one you can use and with a little bit of luck, you already have those in your inventory.
Before the Tutorial Mission
- Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 20 %. When the wearer attacks DEF-reduced enemies, it regenerates 4 Energy.
You get this Light Cone from the Before the Tutorial Mission from the Silver Wolf Event.
The next Light Cone might suit her the most, since it's focus on the increasing DMG for DoT.
Eyes of the Prey
- Increases Effect Hit Rate of its wearer by 20 % and increases DoT by 24 %.
You can obtain this from Departure Warp, Stellar Warp, Character Event Warp, Light Cone Event Warp.
The last weapon is a overall good one for any Nihility character with focus on additional DMG.
We Will Meet Again
- After the wearer uses Basic ATK or Skill, the wearer deals 40 % of ATK as additional DMG to a random enemy that is attacked by abilities.
Kafka's Best Relics
To play Kafka well you need the 4-piece set effect from "Band of Sizzling Thunder" and the 2-piece set effect from "Space Sealing Station".
Prisoner in Deep Confinement
- 2-piece: ATK increases by 12%.
- 4-piece: For every DoT the target enemy is afflicted with, the wearer will ignore 6% of the DEF when dealing DMG to it. Can stack up three times.
- 2-piece: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12 %. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer's ATK increases by another 12 %.
If you aren't found of the idea of only boosting her ATK, you can switch "Space Sealing Station" to "Celestial Differentiator". The focus of the relic lies in increasing the CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate.
Celestial Differentiator
- Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 16 %. When the wearer's current CRIT DMG reaches 120 % or higher, after entering battle, the wearer's CRIT Rate increases by 60 % until the end of their first attack.
Best Stats for Kafka
The right stats are just as critical as the correct set. Prioritize Kafka's Relic stats as followed:
- Body – ATK %
- Boots – ATK %
- Planar Sphere – LIGHTINING %
- Link Rope – ER % / ATK %
- Sub-stats – CRIT → ATK % → EHR % → BREAK
Kafka's Team Comp
Since Kafka has Control over the battlefield she can take the role of a DPS character. We have two setups in mind that might work really well. The perfect and best team comp would be:
Team #1
The best team comp for Kafka is already rather free-to-play friendly as it only involves two 5-Star characters. There is a good chance you already have Sampo and Hook in your team and with a little portion of luck Luchoa as well. If that's the case, you are good to go and able to dominant the field with two strong DoT characters.
Team #2
The second setup is again really free-to-play friendly, with only 4-star characters on the front (except Kafka). But Sampo is always as a Sub DPS on the front. Having him is mandatory for a good working Kafka build.
We wish you the best of luck setting the perfect team for Kafka together! We will update this guide with other Light Cones or team setups as we get our hands on Kafka in the coming weeks!
