Halo Infinite's Campaign can get pretty tough, but how do you change the difficulty settings?
Halo Infinite can be a profoundly difficult game at times, especially seeing as it features some of the best boss battles in series' history. You see, the game is an absolute blast to play through, but can be profoundly difficult to complete if you aren't a series' master. Chief's journey is full of big baddies, fields of enemies, and huge fortresses to conquer. It's awesome, but hardly a breeze.
Now, one way that you can easily blast your way through the campaign is with the Tank Gun Glitch, which allows you to wield the Scorpion Tank's Cannon as a hand-held weapon. Otherwise, if you're struggling, then you're probably playing on a difficulty that is a tad too hard for your wee-little fingers. This isn't an insult, hell no, this is just a problem that needs to be sorted out!
The thing is, Halo Infinite's difficulty settings are a little cryptic. They are there, and you can change them, but it is a little hidden. Thus, don't feel bad if you couldn't figure this out on your own! Halo Infinite is a wonderful game, and generally it's pretty well-designed, but some of its menus are a bit incomprehensible. We're going to dive into how to change the difficult in the game for you, and show you where to go in the menu.
Can You Change the Difficulty in Halo Infinite?
Yes, you can change the difficulty in Halo Infinite without needing to make a new save file. It is not as simple as just jumping into the menu and swapping it over, but it's not hard once you find out how to do it. As we said previously, though, don't feel bad for not figuring this out yourself. It is very poorly designed, and needs to be made more obvious. Thus, I say the following to 343: get on this!
How do I Change the Difficulty in Halo Infinite?
To change the difficult in Halo Infinite, you need to select "Load Game" in the Main Menu, pick your save file, and use the "Difficulty" button. It is not simply a matter of just jumping into the menu mid-gameplay or after an annoying respawn. Instead, in these cases, you need to go all the way out of the Campaign, back to the main menu, and reload the save file in the way that was described above. There will be four difficulties to choose from...
What are the Difficulties in Halo Infinite?
- Easy: This is the easiest difficulty in the game, and perfect for players who just want to blast their way through and experience the story and world with little resistance.
- Normal: The standard Halo Infinite experience, Normal offers a reasonable amount of challenge, but nothing you're going to get too frustrated by.
- Heroic: This really steps up the difficulty in Halo Infinite. Expect tough boss fights and a much more intense experience, but your TTK won't be too affected.
- Legendary: The hardest difficulty in Halo Infinite. You will die a lot, and it will take a lot to kill enemies. You will feel like a hardened soldier, but not invincible. It's a lot of fun, but not for the faint of heart!

What are Skulls, and do they influence the Difficulty in Halo Infinite?
Skulls are modifiers that you can apply to the game, greatly increasing and decreasing different stats. These additions do effect the difficult in Halo Infinite's campaign, as they change the way that the gameplay works, how the enemies work, and how you play the game. Honestly, there is a lot to talk about here, so we won't go into too much detail. What we will say, however, is that you should have a play around with Skulls, as they can provide a lot of variety to your Halo Infinite experience!
