How To Play Garchomp in Pokémon Unite
Garchomp Guide: Basics
Right off the bat, you absolutely want to try out this monster on the battlefield at least once. His stats might not look to convincing at first, but trust us, we've written enough Pokémon guides to know that these stats are pretty great.
- Offense: 3.5/5
- Endurance 3.5/5
- Mobility 2.5/5
- Scoring 2.5/5
- Support 0.5/5
Garchomp Guide: Evolution
You will start out as Gible, then evolve into Gabite at Level 6, before finally evolving to Garchomp at Level 10.
Garchomp Guide: Unique Abilities
- Rough Skin – Reflects melee damage back at the attacker.
- Basic Attack – Every hit increases attack speed. Every fifth attack does extra damage and heals yourself.
Garchomp Guide: Moves
Level 1
- Sand Attack | 6s cooldown – Hurls sand to inflict opponents with nearsight. When it hits, it grants increased movement and attack speed.
- Bulldoze | 5s cooldown – Stomps the ground, damaging nearby opponents.
How to build: Despite nobody ever keeping Sand Attack in any other Pokémon game, for Pokémon Unite, it's the better option, simply because it's the better attack in the early game.
Level 6
- Dig | 8s cooldown – Garchomp becomes untargetable. When coming into contact with an opposing Pokémon or going the max distance of the ability, it jumps out, dealing damage and knocking opposing Pokémon back.
- Dragon Rush | 8s cooldown – Dives into opposing Pokémon, dealing damage and shoving them.
How to build: Both are good and depend on which attack you will choose next. Pair Dig with Earthquake and Dragon Rush with Dragon Claw.
Level 8
- Earthquake | 7s cooldown – Garchomp crashes to the ground from high in the air, damaging nearby opponents.
- Dragon Claw | 5s cooldown – Garchomp dashes forward, slashing twice. The first displaces opponents. The second is a boosted attack, followed by a boost to attack speed.
How to build: Honestly, both are fantastic and will surely help you get kills. This one is serious personal preference. See which one you like more in combat and then just go for that one. Both are incredibly powerful.
Level 10 – Garchomp Unite Move
- Livid Outrage – Garchomp unleashes a powerful chain attack. The final attack displaces opponents, but stuns Garchomp.
Don't go into fights with Livid Outrage, but end the team fight with it. It's a finishing move, not an engaging one.
Garchomp Guide: Item Build
- Held Items | Go with Rocky Helmet, Assault Vest and Leftovers
- Battle Item | Eject Button.
Rocky Helmet will deal percent damage after taking a certain amount of damage, Assault Vest will let you gain a little bit of health back when not in battle and Leftovers restores your health every second by 1% (when not in battle).
Eject Button is the usual choice to escape sticky situations... use it to escape.
Garchomp Guide: Game Strategy
It might look like it, but Garchomp is not a tank. Do not confuse him with it, or you'll find yourself dying more than you should. Make sure to hide in the bushes every now and again, not just to heal, but to gank surprised enemies.
