With the release from Baldur's Gate 3 friends coming together asking the good old question: Does this game support crossplay? We have the answers for you.
Baldur's Gate 3 achieved the second-best PC launch in 2023, while breaking numerous records and position itself behind only Dota 2 and CS:GO in the "Most Played Game" chart. With so many people loving this D&D inspired adventure, one common question arises: Does the game support crossplay or cross-save?
Crossplay allows you to play with your friends, even if they're on different platforms. On the other hand, crosssave lets you transfer your saved file from one platform to another.
So, does this game support crossplay?
Baldur's Gate 3: Crossplay & Crosssave Included – For The Most Parts
Basically, in Baldur's Gate 3, you can play with friends on the same platform. So, if you're on PC using Steam or GOG, you can join together since they share the same client. Butif your friends are on PlayStation 5, unfortunately, you won't be able to play together. PC players stick with PC, and PlayStation 5 players stick with their own community.
On a positive note, the crosssave feature is more flexible. If you have the game on both PC and PS5, you can transfer your save files between them, so you don't have to start over each time you switch platforms. But the exact details of how to do this are not available yet.
We hope that Larian Studios will eventually add full crossplay, but for now, you need to decide how you want to handle your adventure with this limitation in mind.
