So, Kena feels like a PlayStation exclusive, but it never really was: The game is out on PC too – on the Epic Game Store, to be exact. So when people go on proclaiming it the ‘PlayStation’s Zelda’ and another great success by Sony, it’s like… what’chu talkin’ bout?
This game was made by Ember Lab, and the tiny crew of 10 geniuses that pushed this one out are not signed by Sony. Nuh-uh. Sony only got timed exclusivity on this Pixar-looking gem. Rest assured, Kena Bridge of Spirits will not stay PlayStation exclusive.
Will Kena Bridge of Spirits Come to Xbox & Nintendo Switch
Do elephants like peanuts? Actually… I don’t know, and I don't know where that even comes from, but here’s what Ember Labs had to say on this in an interview with SegmentNext:
We are currently focused on our launches for PlayStation and Epic Games store, which are timed exclusives. We will look into other platform releases after launch and a rest. Right now, with just a few days to launch, it's very difficult to think about next steps or future offerings. We have been responding to the requests from the community as best we can. For example, we just announced a physical release and the addition of Russian and Brazilian-Portuguese.
There you have it. They’re looking at other platforms. Anyone that’s ever been dumped knows what ‘looking at other people’ really means: "I’m sleeping around." Good for them, Ember Labs was never a one-console type of dev anyway. They’re too good for that. They should be shared with the entire world.
If this whole piece of news didn’t get you hyped, then you must not be familiar with Kena: Bridge of Spirits and I would like to forward you to a review by our internal fanboy: Kena: A love-letter to this masterpiece.
Now, on a more triggering and controversial note: Is it too early to ask where the Sony exclusives are? What has the PS5 really done for us lately? Aren’t we all still playing PS4 games and multi-platform games? Let’s not kid ourselves, these next-gen systems aren’t really worth having them just yet, and while I have no doubt that the great Sony exclusives will come, I will say this: You better hurry your candy a** up, Sony. I know Xbox can’t compete with the exclusives offering, but Game Pass sure is shaping up to be quite the gaming library, and with our trick, you can even get the whole thing for a third of the price. No pressure, Sony, but… just saying…
