New information regarding the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen video game has been revealed, as well as a trailer for the game.
Jujutsu Kaisen has taken over the anime world. The show has become one of the best anime in 2021, while the movie adaptation, Jujustu Kaisen 0, became one of the highest grossing movies in Japan this past winter.
Now the anime is going mobile with a game that is set to be released sometime in 2022. What is the game about and who can you play though?
New Trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade
The official Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade YouTube channel just posted the upcoming trailer for the game. Do we get gameplay? Sadly we do not, instead it’s an epic anime-style opening in which we get to see some of our favorite characters. Yuuji, Nobara, Megumi, they’re all there along with Satoru Gojo, but we also catch glimpses of people we’ve never seen before.
Now, as an avid manga reader I can tell that they’re not from the manga either, which means they’ve got to be exclusive characters for the upcoming mobile game. These unfamiliar faces will be schoolmates from the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School’s Fukuoka branch.
So, instead of playing as Panda or Yuuji, we will get to play as these all-new characters within the game. Who are the pair, though? According to the special event which took palace on March 7, 2022 these are the characters and voice actors:
- Rina Satou as Saki Rindo
- Kōtarō Nishiyama as Kaito Yūki
- Rikiya Koyama as Kensuke Nagino
Have we piqued your interest? Just watch the trailer and enjoy the epic anime opening that serves as the trailer of the game.
When Will Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade be Released?
An official release date has not been announced yet, though the game should be released in 2022. It will be available on iOS and Android devices and is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
Jujutsu Kaisen is also set for a season 2 which should be released sometime in 2023. The exact release season is not yet confirmed for the second season, though. Animation studio MAPPA is going all-in with their upcoming rendition of Chainsaw Man though, so you’ve got that to look forward to in late 2022.
