The Game Awards 2023 were full of new and exciting announcements, but Jurassic Park: Survival is probably one of those that hit right in the nostalgia with a lot of us.
I suspect no one foresaw this announcement, but during the Game Awards 2023 Saber Interactive unveiled their new Jurassic Park game called Jurassic Park: Survival, set directly after the events of the original 1993 movie.
There isn't a confirmed release date yet, but Jurassic Park: Survival will launch on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. But with the trailer being mostly cinematic with very little (and rough looking) gameplay parts sprinkled in there, it seems like the game could be in the earlier stages of game development.
Jurassic Park Survival: Surviving The Horrors On Isla Nublar
You step into the shoes of Dr. Maya Joshi, a lone scientist from InGen, left stranded on Isla Nublar, struggling to survive amidst the chaos caused by rampaging dinosaurs.
Although we've only caught a glimpse of pre-alpha gameplay, Saber Interactive's overall approach to Jurassic Park: Survival appears to be a single-player game that emphasizes stealth and action. Dr. Maya focuses on evading rather than confronting dinosaurs. Outsmarting these prehistoric creatures seems crucial for survival. It's reminiscent of the immersive experience Creative Assembly delivered with Alien: Isolation.
Saber Interactive also announced they are aiming for a fully realized Isla Nublar, filled with reactive wildlife, dinosaurs and other threats lurking in the shadows. This opens the door to exploring iconic park locations like the Visitor Center and more.
