The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will probably not release in 2021, according to a prominent Nintendo insider. Breath of the Wild 2 will probably release a bit later, with a major showing at E3 2021. What's going on? Why is it not coming out in 2021? When is the Breath of the Wild 2 release date? Let's take a look!
We know very little about Breath of the Wild 2, yet everyone is in a total state of hype. That sentence might sound cringe as hell, but serious: everyone is talking about it. Thus, we have an announcement that could surely derail the hype train: Breath of the Wild 2 will probably not release in 2021!
"What? Why? What happened?" Shush, shut up and listen. That's what we're here to tell you, so quieten down...
Breath of the Wild 2 seems to have been hit insanely hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Nintendo Insider Zippo (who obviously uses a fake name). Zippo claimed that "If any Nintendo game was affected by the pandemic, it was this one." That doesn't sound like good news...
This pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works of many game developers – just look at Cyberpunk 2077! It seems that, unlike CD Projekt Red, Nintendo don't want to release a buggy game, so they will probably not be launching Breath of the Wild 2 in 2021.
What's The Breath of the Wild 2 Release Date?
Breath of the Wild 2 will probably get a Spring 2022 release date. According to the Nintendo Insider, the game is basically finished, but an end-of-2021 release date just ain't going to happen. That's alright, we're happy to wait, we want to play a "great" game, not just an "okay" one!
What we could see, however, is a pretty sweet E3 2021 for Nintendo!
What I foresee Nintendo doing at E3 is finally busting down the doors on the game and giving fans and the press tons of details on it, with a 'Spring 2022' date attached to it.
Honestly, if the game needs a bit more time, give it more time! Breath of the Wild was incredible because it was polished and expansive. That's what we want from Breath of the Wild 2, even if the release date is a little further down the road! It's not like we don't have other great games to play in the meantime, so good-on Nintendo for taking their time with it.
