Margot Robbie has been confirmed to lead the Ocean's 11 sequel set in the 1960s.
The saga continues: The Ocean's franchise is far from finished, but the next instalment will not be led by Danny Ocean, rather it will Margot Robbie who will take charge. What role she will play is unknow as of yet, but it is known that the prequel will be set in the 1960s.
Ocean's 11 Prequel Set in 1960s
The news was first broken by The Hollywood Reporter who reported that Margot Robbie will not just be the movie's lead, but also its producer alongside Tom Ackerley, with whom she owns the company LuckChap.
If you're anything like me, Ocean's 8 has made you very doubtful about the future of this franchise, but... hey, at least the 1960s Europe setting sounds interesting. Outside of the setting news are sparse, since the production will only start in spring 2023.
The good news is that Margot Robbie is as much of an A-List cast as you can get these days, being nominated for best supporting actress in 2019 for the movie Bombshell. Even more surprising, Margot Robbie will co-direct this one with Jay Roach, who was at the helm for Bombshell. Outside of that, Margot Robbie will star as Barbie, alongside Ryan Gosling's Ken, in the upcoming Barbie movie. Busy bee.
