The MMORPG Ragnarök is looking all kinds of fine. Openly inspired by God of War, this MMORPG has already got us hyped. Hyped enough to fill you in on all you need to know:
So reading God of War meets Breath of the Wild might have you triggered, but we stand by it: Chinese developer NetEase admitted that they were openly inspired by God of War and the open-world elements and the climbing definitely remind us of Breath of the Wild. Let’s have a look at this new MMORPG Ragnarok.
What's the Story in Ragnarök?
Story-wise you’re a dead person making his way back to life. This journey takes you through Valhalla with the destination being Midgard (Earth). Simple enough. Along the way you get a bunch of features that are music to our ears:
- Ragnarök features an open-world
- There are no daily quests, but rather an actual diverse story
- There are no classes. Instead, skills are leveled by use and equipment
Sounds promising, right? Even more promising is this little teaser:
MMORPG Ragnarok is Inspired by God of War!
There’s no shame in openly admitting to being influenced by one of the greatest action adventures of our time. The developers state the combat is taking a cue out of God of War’s book, which, for an MMORPG, sounds mouth-watering (other metaphors came to mind, but they were not PG-13). They also stated that dungeons will be randomized each time you enter and boss fights also challenge you with different tasks and scenarios.
