Remember when we told you a while ago that Mortal Kombat 12 was a thing? Well, long story short, Warner Bros. confirmed the existence of the game in a quarterly earnings call.

Now, far more excitingly, we're hearing rumors about an official reveal. Apparently, this Mortal Kombat announcement is coming very soon. Here is everything we know.

Mortal Kombat 1 Will Reportedly Be The Next MK Game

According to Twitter leaker billbil-kun, the next Mortal Kombat game will be called Mortal Kombat 1 instead of Mortal Kombat 12. He apparently also knows about the platforms the game will be playable on, as well as the prices:

If this turns out to be true, Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. There is no information about a potential release date, though.

There are quite a few hints that the game will be officially unveiled in May 2023.

During the Xbox Era podcast, Shpeshal_Nick revealed that Mortal Kombat would officially be announced during the next PlayStation Showcase, which is in May. And another host on the podcast also agreed with him, since Sony has the rights to the marketing rights.

But there is even more evidence which points towards May. Recently, Jeff Grubb also stated that the next PlayStation Showcase should take place in May. He confirmed this by stating that it'll definitely happen before Summer Game Fest.

Jez Corden, has also hinted at more Mortal Kombat information in the next month... which (at the time of writing) is May.

Are you hyped for Mortal Kombat 1? Or is 2023's Game of the Year all you care about?

We don't expect any delays for Mortal Kombat 1, unlike a certain game...
