The Dead Space remake has been very well-received, and it's prompting more and more fans to plead for a new Dead Space game. Not a remake, but a brand-new game. And, thankfully, the devs sound interested in the idea.
The Dead Space remake has just been released! And guess what? We loved it (here's our full review of Dead Space), and we're already grinding New Game Plus for the alternate ending. But with all this hype, fans are naturally left asking one question. Can we just get a new Dead Space game now?
Devs Interested In Making A New Dead Space
In a recent interview with GQ, Dead Space's senior producer, Phil Ducharme, and creative director, Roman Campos-Oriola, shared their ambitions for a new game. Right now, their focus is obviously on the launch of the remake, but after that we could be in for a new installment.
To be specific, Ducharme said the following in response to a question about new Dead Space games:
For sure, it's, it's a hope that we have. There's interest on my side and I think on Roman's side – you can see his smile – in exploring Dead Space more. There are ideas, that's for sure. We're finishing this week, we're going to be making sure that that launch goes well and that there are as few technical issues as possible. We're gonna be heading out on vacation and then we'll sit down and we'll have those discussions within EA to say, 'Well, what's next?'
It's not as committal as we'd like, but we'll take it.
We'll keep updated as this story develops.
But if they do give us a new game, please let it be better than this:
