Fight Night is arguably the greatest boxing franchise of all time. Or rather, it was... Now, after having been gone for so long, Fight Night finally returns.
So, EA Sports is currently working on a project code-named 'Moneyball'. Very un-obviously, that code name refers to a new Fight Night game – according to insiders. Now, before I get you get all excited (which the headline probably already did, sorry): This Fight Night comeback is still a couple of years from being released, since EA is prioritizing a new UFC game for late next year:
We’re very excited about UFC 5 and… we want to eliminate the split focus that several members of our leadership team have had over the past while so we can solely focus on delivering migration and UFC 5 at high quality.
The quote above is from an internal email, which VGC got their hands on. Unfortunately, between the insider tip on 'Moneyball' and that email, we don't have much else on the upcoming Fight Night comeback. What's interesting, though, is that Fight Night is staging a comeback amidst the release of Esports Boxing Club, which has me intrigued, because everybody knows: Whenever two games enter into competition, us gamers are the winners.
Lastly, I want to appeal to EA directly, and get a couple words off my chest:
EA, please don't take this seriously, but the UFC series sucks. Fight Night was amazing, and you really did the sport of boxing proud, but your UFC games... just, no. Thus, if this lowly writer's opinion is heard, let it be known that I think you should cancel the production of UFC 5, and focus on Fight Night instead. Also, you have a leak in the office that feeds info to VGC.
