Tomb Raider Game Announced at State of Unreal 2022

The game was just announced at State of Unreal, which took place on April 5, 2022. During this event, Epic announced that their new engine is going to be made available for all developers starting today.

So, where does Tomb Raider come into all of this? Well, Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider franchise general manager, Dallas Dickinson shared a short video in which he praised the Unreal Engine 5 and announced that they just started deveopment on their next Tomb Raider game.

Our goal is to push the envelope of fidelity and to deliver the high quality, cinematic adventure experience, that fans deserve from both Crystal Dynamics and the Tomb Raider franchise. We can't wait to take this journey together.

What Other Games Are Using the Unreal Engine 5?

Tomb Raider won't be the only game in development with the Unreal Engine 5. Other developers have also announced their collaboration with Epic to make their games shine. Even the next Witcher game is going to be developed using the Unreal Engine 5.

So, are you excited for another high-quality Tomb Raider game in the mainline of the series? If it looks as good as we hope, then it'll hopefully be worth the cost.
