The Nintendo Switch is a brilliant console and is rightfully set to become the most-sold console of all time. Thankfully, the next console is already shaping up to improve on some key issues.

Next Nintendo Console Set To Feature Big Quality-of-Life Feature

In a recent shareholder meeting, Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa was asked questions about whether Nintendo Switch purchases would carry over to the next console.

In his answer, he revealed that Nintendo will take a new approach with their online infrastructure:

“In the transition from Nintendo Switch to the next-generation console, we would like to make every effort to ensure that customers can make the transition smoothly while using their Nintendo account.”

This is pretty awesome, considering that online purchases were always tied to each generation of Nintendo consoles. With the current system of Nintendo accounts, the legendary company is set to establish a more persistant online presence.

While all of that is neat, it amplifies how behind Nintendo still is in terms of online gaming. Xbox and PlayStation consoles had features like these for ages, especially with the current generation of Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.

And considering that, you should assume that Nintendo will somehow find a way to make using their online services confusing and frustrating. Still, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
