The popular manga series One Piece is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, so what is the best way to do this? Yes, you got it, we are getting a new One Piece video game! Bandai Namco just announced One Piece Odyssey and we are going to tell you everything we know about it.

What is One Piece Odyssey?

One Piece Odyssey will be a new JRPG from producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki, which will tell a new and original story from series creator Eiichiro Oda. Oda will also contribute new character and monster designs. We don't have much information yet, but just check out the trailer for yourself:

The really short gameplay clip shows hero Luffy running around an island, climbing and searching for treasure chests. We can also see him battling in what appears to be turn-based combat. Bandai Namco is describing the game as follows:

During their voyage, the Straw Hats, led by Monkey D. Luffy are swallowed by a huge storm at sea. They end up on a mysterious island full of nature amidst the storm and become separated from each other. The crew sets out on a new adventurous journey filled with wonders of a raging nature, powerful enemies, and strange encounters with island locals. Work together with Luffy and his crew to set sail once again!

It was also confirmed that we can not only play as Luffy. Other playable characters will be Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Frankie and Brook.

When & on what platforms will One Piece Odyssey release?

One Piece Odyssey will be released in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. So yep, no matter what platform you are gaming on, you will be able to play One Piece Odyssey. Oh, not if you only own a Switch though...

We will keep you updated as soon as we get more info or an exact release date. Until then, check out our Elden Ring guides.
