Overwatch 2 has been a troubled child since it's conception. Now, there is finally some light on the horizon.
First things first: Overwatch 2 is still happening. That wasn't always such a surefire bet. Now, though, Blizzard has finally given us some signs of life of the shooter:
#Overwatch2 PVP Beta is coming soon. OW2 PVP Beta begins late April New heroes, maps, and modes Beta Sign Up https://t.co/jC3gYjfdBc It's been 0 days since the last Overwatch 2 update pic.twitter.com/OFg0DAqJQR

Interestingly, Blizzard is splitting the PvP and the PvE release. The PvP modes will release in April, as you can see in the tweet, while the PvE mode has no specific release frame. In a follow-up tweet, Blizzard also reveals what we can expect from the Overwatch 2 beta in April:
- 5v5
- New hero Sojourn
- 4 New Maps: Circuit Royal, Midtown, New Queen Street, Colosseo
- New Mode Push
- Hero Reworks for Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion, Sombra
- A new Ping System
How to Join Overwatch 2 Beta
The beta will be available for PC players in all regions, though it is a closed beta, and not available for all. If you want to try your luck, though, follow this link to sign up.
Of course, with the beta happening so soon, this makes us hopeful that Overwatch 2 will still release this year, but there's been no word on that from Blizzard. As far as we know, the Overwatch 'sequel' will keep getting delayed... or it might just shadow-drop out of the blue. Your guess is as good as mine, but at least this closed beta will lead to some first impressions and feedback that will, finally, give us a proper idea of what to expect from Overwatch 2.
