Persona 5 is set to release a co-op card game next year, alongside its other upcoming franchise releases. Here's what we know.

Damn, Persona is on one these days: Later this year we are getting Persona 5 Royal - we're getting in on October 21, to be exact - and in early 2023, two more Persona games are releasing: Persona 3 and Persona 4 will be making their way to all consoles. Now, Atlus announced that another Persona 5 spin-off will be headed out way, and this one is a little bit different from the rest: It'll be a Persona card game, that can be played in co-op.

Persona 5 Royal Co-Op Card Game

The game is being developed by Atlus in partnership with Pandasaurus Games, and is set for a release date in late 2023.

Players will take on the roles of their favourite Phantom Thieves and fight to change the world in this cooperative card-based strategy game.

Outside of the quote above from the game's creator, Emerson Matsuuchi, little is known about this new Persona entry, except for the fact that it is a card game. It certainly is a bit outside the norm for Atlus, since this one won't be coming to PC or consoles: We're talking a full-on card game here, not something digital like Hearthstone or Runeterra.

As a diehard fan of Persona 5 Royal, I cannot wait to bring the Palaces, Velvet Room, and world of Persona 5 Royal onto tabletops everywhere in 2023.

It'll be interesting to see whether the card game will tie into the story of Persona 5, or if it is an entirely standalone experience. Given how popular Persona is, I also wouldn't be surprised if the card game were to get a digital version, if it ends up being succesful enough.
