The Phasmophobia Halloween Event 2023 has finally started and players can now dive into terrifying challenges, funny Easter eggs, and a new lobby theme.
This Halloween Event has quite surprised me, when I started playing Phasmophobia with a friend yesterday. Immediately after spawning into the game, you will be welcomed by a very atmospheric new lobby design. There are pumpkins scattered everywhere, including candles and cozy lights.
The lobby alone was a terrific experience for this year's Halloween event. But Kinetic Games didn't just decorate our surroundings, no. The new Halloween update in Phasmophobia also comes with a new event challenge, that players can complete while the event is running to get unique collectables that will never become available again. I personally got stuck on this challenge multiple times, but found the perfect and most efficient way to master it.
How To Complete the Phasmophobia Halloween Event Challenge
Make sure to finish this challenge before the Halloween Event ends after two weeks.
In this challenge, players must first collect multiple parts of a recipe, hidden inside glowing pumpkins, scattered across different maps in the game. After the player has found all recipe snippets, they need to go to Maple Lodge Campsite, collect all ingredients, and throw them in a cauldron.
Let's start by collecting all recipe parts.
All Pumpkin Locations
To collect a recipe snippet, place it in the van and end the job. Be aware that if you are playing with a friend, both of you need to hold the recipe inside their hand at least once, before ending the job. Otherwise, only one of you will receive the progress in the challenge!

| Tanglewood Drive | The pumpkin on Tanglewood Drive can be found underneath a bench in the dining room, right next to the basement door. |
| Edgefield Road | For Edgefield Road pumpkin, go upstairs and enter the room at the end of the hallway to the left. You will find the pumpkin inside a trashcan. |
| Bleasdale Farmhouse | In this farmhouse, the pumpkin is hidden in the right side of the attic. |
| Ridgeview Court | The pumpkin can be found in one of the shelfs in the basement. |
| Grafton Farmhouse | This was quite a tricky find, This pumpkin is located outside of the house, you can either walk around it to the backside, or go through the backdoor. From there you will aready be able to see the pumpkins light. |
| Willow Street | Here you will alreadey see the pumpkin just by stepping outside the van and looking to your left. |
| Prison | You will find the prison pumpkin in the central control unit, right next to the cafeteria. To get there, just go straight through the main entrance, turn right in the main corridor and go straight ahead until you enter a wider corridor. Now turn left and walk back parallel to the way you came. The door to the control room is on your right. |
| Camp Woodwind | The Camp Woodwind pumpkin is located right next to the camp entrance, on the left side after entering. |
| Maple Lodge Campsite | The last location to complete the recipe, here you will find the pumpkin next to the big cauldron on the campfire. |
Now that you have collected all recipe snippets, make your way to the Maple Lodge Campsite.
On this map, you will find a big cauldron located on the campfire, left to the entrance. Now you need to find the ingredients from the recipe on the map and throw them into the cauldron.
Maple Lodge Campsite – All Ingredient Locations
- Light in the Dark: The flashlight in your hand (throw it in at the end if you only have one)
- Death's Rot (x3): After entering the campsite, turn right and go into the staff area. Surrounded by the humming of flies, you will find rotten apples in an open box. Grab the three apples and throw them into the cauldron.
- Jar of Mind: A brain in a jar is located on top of the drawer next to the main reception table in the middle of the map.
- Toe of Frog: Find this doll on top of the monitor at the reception.
- Sack of Beans (x3): Grab three sack from the table inside the sports tent by the cauldron.
- Eyes of the Bear: Head to the bathroom on the backside of the sports tent, where you will see them inside one of the sinks.
- Screaming Skull: Go to the very back of the map to find this skull on a log, in between a blue and a red tent.
- Bowl of Grins: Enter the wooden cabin in the top-right corner of the map (the key to open the cabin door is next to the door mat) go inside and look to your left to find the Bowl of Grins in the kitchen.
- Love's Blossom: You can find this flower in the hand of one of the skeletons on the right side of the cabin, next to the lake.
After throwing all the ingredients into the cauldron, including your flashlight at the end, there should be a lot of smoke building up from this mysterious mix and skulls showing in the skies. This is a sign, that you did everything correct. Congratulations! Now you can return to the van and receive your reward after ending the job.
For collecting all recipe snippets and throwing all the ingredients into the cauldron at Maple Lodge, players will receive an exclusive Halloween Trophy and ID Card.
