Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki warned that we will not get more PS5s in 2022 than we did in 2021. Sony will continue to struggle to meet PS5 demands.

No, seriously, we have a PS5 at the office, but getting one as a normal consumer is akin to getting a date with a Kardashian: You need to be ballin. This is not gonna change in 2022. Sony's CFO confirmed that the company will continue to struggle to produce PS5s in the coming year and will not be able to meet the consumers' demands:

This is what Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki had to say on the matter in a conversation with Bloomberg:
I don't think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PS5 next year, our supply wouldn't be able to catch up with demand.
All this trouble is due to component shortages that are also affecting Nintendo and Microsoft. Thus far, Sony has sold approximately 8 million PS5 consoles and plans to ramp this up to 15 million for the current fiscal year. Incredibly enough, this is still on pace with the PS4 and one can only wonder how much the PS5 could sell if it weren't for these Corona-induced shortages...
