PUBG officially registered at the Indian government on November 21 and it’s a good sign that the game will be making its return.

The popular mobile version of PUBG was officially banned in India in late October. This was a direct result of the government banning over 100 apps that had any relation to China back in September. The reason for the ban was privacy concerns.

Many of the game’s fans were let down but the PUBG Corporation was quick to respond and it seems that the title will be making a return. The title is one of the most popular apps in India so we didn’t have any doubt the story’s not over.

Just earlier this month the PUBG Corporation announced that a special mobile version of the game is set to be released in India. It’ll be different than the official one and it’ll address the issues that led to the ban. Changes in it include:

  • Fully clothed characters
  • Green blood effects
  • Game time restriction
With privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority for PUBG Corporation, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users' personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed

The PUBG company was registered at the Indian Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The directors of the PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. are Kumar Krishnan Iyer and Hyunil Sohn. The latter is also the head of corporate development at PUBG Corporation. It’s very likely that the Indian company will be a direct subsidiary of it.

What does this mean? All operations of the main company will be going through the subsidiary (for India). This might also mean that the corporation is planning to set up a big branch in India.

To sweeten the pot for India, the PUBG corporation also promised to pledge $100 million in the country’s gaming, esports, entertainment, and IT industries. While the official status of the game is still unknown PUBG is making great efforts to return its mobile version to the Indian scene.
