Rainbow Six Siege is still one of the biggest multiplayer shooters on the market, and rightly so. Year 6 of Ubisoft's tactical shooter is now starting with Crimson Heist. Read all the info on Crimson Heist and the Year 6 Roadmap here to keep up to date with all the upcoming content.
The biggest new addition to Crimson Heist is of course the new assault operator from Argentina - Flores. Crimson Heist brings some gameplay changes and fundamentally changes operator Nøkk, for example. In addition, there is a complete revision of the map border as well as new features and elite skins.
Rainbow Six Siege: Crimson Heist – New Operator Flores
Flores is a new assault operator described by the team at Ubisoft as follows:
Flores is equipped with a unique gadget, the RCE Ratero, which allows him to place a remote explosive device at his feet and control it across the map for a limited time. When the timer expires (or Flores interrupts it himself), the device arms, becomes bulletproof and activates a short timer before exploding. Flores can be equipped with either an AR33 or an SR-25 as a primary weapon, and a GSH-18 as a secondary weapon.
Each new operator adds momentum to the Rainbow Six box, so we're really looking forward to Flores!

Rainbow Six Siege: Crimson Heist – Patch Notes
Here are the most important changes that are coming to Rainbow Six Siege with Crimson Heist (note: these changes are currently only available on the test server and will come to the actual game later):
Operator Balancing
NØKK
- While HEL presence reduction is active, Nøkk does not activate any proximity-based devices.
- Affected devices: Ela's Grzmot Mine, Melusi's Banshee, Kapkan's Access Barrier, Proximity Alarms and Metal Detectors.
- Nøkk's bug effect breaks proximity immunity, activating all devices within range.
- The HEL device in Nøkk's hand changes colour when it passes a proximity device.
BLACKBEARD
- Shield TP has been lowered from 50 to 20.
- MK17's damage has been reduced from 49 to 40.
DOKKAEBI
- Gonne-6 has been added (C75 has been removed).
- Stun grenades have been added (frag grenades have been removed).
Tweaks and Improvements
Game balancing
- Defenders' electricity no longer destroys allies' equipment.
- There are new playlist settings for custom games.
- The damage zone for reinforcements is now reduced to avoid them overlapping and destroying nearby gadgets.
Gameplay
Several small issues have been fixed. Here are a few examples:
- Various issues with invitations and matchmaking.
- Various issues with the deployable shield.
- Hosts of custom online games cannot create a second online game.
- Various issues occur when the second to last living player is eliminated right before the last player.
In addition to these changes, there are performance improvements for next-gen consoles, bug fixes for the user interface and improvements for issues that caused crashes.
Rainbow Six Siege: Year 6 Roadmap
Ubisoft plan to continue supporting Rainbow Six Siege in Year 6 with lots of cool content. As you can see in the roadmap, 4 Seasons are planned for Year 6 and Crimson Heist is the first of those. Ubisoft sums up the upcoming operator and map revisions like this:
Season 2 introduces an Operator from the Nakoda Nations and the revamped map Favela. The Season 3 operator is from Croatia. In Season 3, three maps will be slightly reworked. Finally, the last operator of this year comes from Ireland along with the revised map Outback.
There don't seem to be any new maps planned for Year 6. Rainbow Six Siege already has a great selection of maps and the map reworks are usually significant, but this could still be a slight disappointment for fans.
In addition to these changes, Ubisoft announced some other gameplay and system changes. For example, a reputation system will be introduced in Year 6. Attackers will be able to change their operators and equipment as often as they like during preparation. Ubisoft also promise to make the game more stable and to work on quality-of-life changes throughout the year.
