That's right: a Red Dead Redemption Switch port is happening. The release is already almost at our doorstep, as the digital version arrives on August 17, 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Switch. The physical edition will release two months later on October 13.

Developer Double Eleven are in charge of the Nintendo Switch version. They already worked on titles like Minecraft Dungeons, Fallout 76 and Limbo. Let's take a look at the revealed details!

Red Dead Redemption: Port Or Remaster?

As nothing suggest a remaster, it seems this version will just be a port with some improved visuals, trophy support and multiple added languages. Beside Polish, Korean and Russian, there will be also Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Brazilian, Portuguese and Latin America Spanish.

The Red Dead Redemption port includes the complete single-player's experience and, the DLC "Undead Nightmare" and also the bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. However, there won't be any kind of multiplayer support or content included.

When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is forced to hunt down the gang of criminals he once called friends. Experience Marston’s journey across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico as he fights to bury his blood-stained past in the critically acclaimed predecessor to the 2018 blockbuster, Red Dead Redemption 2. Also included is Undead Nightmare, the iconic horror story that transforms the world of Red Dead Redemption into an apocalyptic fight for survival against a zombie horde.

The eShop page is already online, which reveals that the Red Dead Redemption Switch and PS4 port will cost $49.99. You can't pre-order the game, but it's possible to add the game to your favorites.
