Resident Evil 4: Village Chief's House & Crystal Marble Puzzle Explained
When you arrive in the Village Chief’s House, you should first explore a bit until you find a book. This book will give you hints for the first puzzle in the house, the symbol lock. It’s a Resident Evil game, of course there’s a lock with symbols.
The correct answer for this puzzle is basically spelled out in the book: Put in the symbols for Crop, Pig and Baby to open the lock and acquire the Crystal Marble.
Now, this is where things get tricky. Go upstairs and insert the marble in the locked door. Now you’ll need to rotate the marble until the bubbles inside form the Las Plagas insigna, which you can see in the background.

This is arguably the worst puzzle in the game, but you got this. Knowing that you need this exact shape is already a good starter, as the formless marbles are quite disorienting at first. Turn and twist the marble until you see any shape forming up, either the wings, the tail, anything will do.
Follow this up until the marbles become more and more solid. As soon as you have a good shape going overall, turn the marble until you have the insignia the right sight up to finish the puzzle. Check the image above to see what it's supposed to look like in the end.
