Returnal, the PS5 exclusive that's in everyone's mouth, has been delayed to April 30, 2021, which was announced by none other than Sony themselves. The original release date for Returnal was supposed to be March 19th… we were almost at: “Returnal releases next month”, but then they did a 180 on us and now it’s April. Sad, but also: Glad. Update: Returnal has a new release date of April 30, 2021. SIE and Housemarque have made the decision to move the release date in order to give the team extra time to continue to polish the game to the level of quality players expect from Housemarque. See you in April! pic.twitter.com/xb6IBWJ5TQ

As you can see here, Sony literally says that they want to give the team some “extra time to polish the game to the level of quality expected”. Sure, now you could say: not everything is about Cyberpunk, but you know what? No, in 2021 every statement like that is about Cyberpunk, everyone is scared out of their minds that they’ll end up like CDPR and so, now, moves like this can and should be anticipated.
And you know what?
IT’S OKAY FOR DEVELOPERS TO PUSH BACK THE RELEASE DATE IF THE GAME IS UNFINISHED OR NEEDS EXTRA TIME TO BE PERFECT.
