It's good when GTA 5 news come directly from the CEO of Take-Two (Rockstar's parent company) and not from another data miner: The head of all things that are good and well in gaming confirmed that the GTA 5 PS5 remaster will feature significant changes and the game will be much more than a simple port... much more than a simple remaster.
So GTA V is coming to the PS5 in the second half of 2021. You knew that already, and if you didn't... now you know. If that's not enough, you can catch up on all our GTA coverage here:

Now, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick got us all moist about this upcoming remaster. Why? Because it turns out it's not just a mere remaster – it'll have some full-on remake elements to it that take advantage of the PS5 in significant ways. Hype!
How Will GTA 5 Be Different on PS5?
The PS5 remaster of GTA 5 will improve the technology, upgrade visuals and have performance enhancements. Don't just take our word for it though – here's the quote we just stole from:
Remastering has always been a part of the strategy. We've done differently than the competition - we don't just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we're launching it on. We improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that's why I think our remastered titles typically do so well.
This is what Zelnick said at a recent conference – as reported by VGC
Much Better Will the GTA 5 Graphics Be on PS5?
So what can we expect? Will GTA 5 on PS5 look as good as RDR 2? It's quite possible since both games use the RAGE engine. Also, there were already reports of GTA Online for PS5 moving to the exact advanced version of the RAGE engine that Red Dead Redemption 2 is using. Thus, it only makes sense for GTA 5's single player to make the same jump. So... let's cut the assuming and get to bold fact-stating:
GTA 5 on the PlayStation 5 will look as good or better as Red Dead Redemption 2.
