Skyward Sword Camera Controls Coming in HD Switch Remaster
Skyward Sword camera controls are finally coming in the HD remake of this classic when it drops on July 16. It might seem like a bit of an insignificant announcement, but I can promise you: this is big news! The original game had an awful camera, due to the terrible Wii remote and Nunchuk controls that lacked a second analogue stick.
Look, I know that the Tweet is in Japanese, but this video perfectly demonstrates the new Skyward Sword camera controls, and they get us super hyped!

Let's be real: the controls in Skyward Sword on the Wii were all over the place. Certain aspects of the whole motion-control thing worked quite well. Others were just insanely awful, and we're very happy that they're dead and gone. This is one of those. Goodbye static camera, goodbye getting insanely confused when trying desperately to navigate dungeons. Hello proper Skyward Sword camera controls!
It's not just camera controls that Skyward Sword is adding. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will feature a bunch of great new quality of life improvements on the Switch. These include a new autosave feature (holy cow, yes!), a silky smooth 60fps, and skippable cutscenes. The biggest of all of these improvements, of course, is the fact that you can now play the game 100% motion-control-free. Goodbye stupid motion controls, hello Skyward Sword!
