Huge News for all Star Trek gaming fans. At Summer Fest 2023 we saw the new trailer for the upcoming Star Trek: Infinite. And it's something totally new for the franchise, which has been struggling on the gaming market for years.

Star Trek: Infinite will be a grand strategy game set in the vast Star Trek Universe, which will be developed and published by Nimble Giant Entertainment and Paradox Interactive.

Star Trek: Picard Season 4: Will The TNG Crew Return?

Paradox has a lot of experience in producing grand strategy games, like Europa Universalis. With their game Stellar, they already produced a similar game in a science fiction setting and universe. So there's few teams better-suited to the job.

Star Trek: Infinite - Savior For A Struggling Franchise?

The franchise is currently trying to get back into the gaming market. This is already the second title from Star Trek this year. Earlier this year, in April, Star Trek: Resurgence was released, a Telltale-style game with a focus on dramatic storytelling.

A full reveal for Star Trek: Infinite has been set for the 16th of June, which is also Picard Day, a day celebrated by fans since 2007. Named after the famous Star Trek Character and Captain of the USS Enterprise, Jean-Luc Picard.

The future will show if Star Trek: Infinite can be a savior for this struggling gaming franchise. But it would be very sad if that's not the case. There were some great Star Trek strategy games in the past, like Star Trek: Armada or Star Trek: Birth of the Federation.

But with an experienced company like Paradox on the case, this game could live up to the full potential of this rich sci-fi universe. So let's see - live long and prosper!
