Starfield XP Farming: How To Level Up With Ease
Here are some great sources of XP that will help you level up fast!
Quests
Well yeah, duh. Obviously, quests are going to give you XP. They are one of the best sources for XP, though, so of course we're going to add them to the list to help you level up fast.
Keep in mind though that there are different types of quests that will reward you with different amounts of XP.
First, you have your standard quests that you'll be given by NPCs. The shorter the quests, the less XP they'll give you, but a nice quest chain might give you about 200 XP, which isn't too shabby.
Then you also have your faction quests, once you decide to join one. Faction quests will give you a very good amount of XP and also a nice sum of Credits to boost. Most faction quests will give you upwards of 200 XP.
You'll also be able to pick quests from your missions board, but these will give you the least amount of XP from all the different quest types. This doesn't mean they aren't worth doing! Just keep in mind, that you won't be swimming in XP after completing them.
Scanning, Scanning And More Scanning
Another wonderful source of fast XP is exploring... a lot. Scan every new area that you're in to find landmarks, settlements, or points of interest. All of those things will give you between 15 and 50 XP.
Planets are also a great XP gold mine. Every time you visit a planet for the first time, you'll gain 100 XP!
The good thing is, you can even earn the XP from planets that you can't even land on, like Gas Giants. All you have to do is get close to these planets and scan them from your ship to earn XP. So keep on the lookout for Gas Giants if you want to level up really fast.
Sleeping
Man, I don't know why this doesn't happen in real life too.
Take whatever chance you get for some nice shuteye in Starfield. Sleeping will give you the "well-rested" buff for 24 in-game hours, which will grant you a 10% XP boost within that time.
So try and get some rest before you head out to your next quest! Ooh, that rhymed!
Get Married!
Sleeping alone might already give you a boost for your XP farming, but sleeping in a bed with someone else will help you level up even faster.
Seriously, if you want to get an extra 15% XP-bonus for a short time after sleeping in a bed, then you should consider marrying a companion in Starfield. You can choose who you want to romance of your companions and then marry them after getting a closer relationship later on in the game.
Once the sparks are flying, marry your companion, so you'll sleep together in your bed each night to gain the "Emotional Security" bonus, which is basically an upgrade of the "Well-Rested Bonus" and will give you a 15% XP-boost for some time.
Defeating Enemies (And Their Ships)
Fighting enemies isn't going to give you a crazy amount of XP, unless you defeat a large group of them. But, whenever you encounter enemy ships, it's worth fighting and destroying them.
Don't just shoot the ship until it outright explodes, though, shoot it until you can board the enemy ship, so can you dock your ship and defeat all the enemies aboard. Then you can destroy the enemy ship. That should help you level up nicely.
Whenever you're in a situation where you can negotiate with someone, it's worth avoiding that interaction if you're looking to get more XP. While you do get some XP from negotiating, you will get more by just fighting them.
Alien Tea
A more unusual sounding way to farm a bunch of XP is by making yourself a steaming cup of Alien Tea. Though the name might seem a bit suspicious, all you need to make this drink yourself is some distilled water and some fiber. Use those ingredients to craft yourself a nice cup of Alien Tea.
Drinking it will give you a slight 1% XP-boost, which may not seem like a lot, but can definitely come in handy when farming to level up faster than usual.
Cheats
If you're really, really desperate to level up incredibly fast in Starfield then your last option might be to use cheats. While this will probably take out a lot of the fun of Starfield, if you don't like grinding to gain levels, then this could be your last resort.
PC players will be able to change their player level with console commands. Which key will open the console commands varies from PC to PC, just test out either the ' key, the @ key or the ~ key. After the console commands open up, type in player.setlevel 100 (or any other level you want to immediately level up to) to instantly level up to level 100.
Whichever tip you use to farm for XP in order to level up fast in Starfield, have fun playing!
