Rockstar might be the bigger name, but they are still owned by Take Two and the latter is working on a new franchise that they will announce later this month.

All you GTA-heads might not know this, but Rockstar is actually owned by Take Two, who also own 2K Games. Yup, big league ballers. So when Take Two is working on a new game, that's big news.

What Game Is Take Two Working On?

We don't know. All we know is that it will be an "exciting new franchise". Granted, any publisher will call their new game exciting, but this being Take Two, we give it a little more weight, because when the big bosses of gaming say something, they usually mean it. Also, note that it says franchise and not merely a new game.

We know that Take Two is also working on a strategy based Marvel game that will play similarly to XCOM and a "Cthulhu meets SaintsRow"-like game, but since we know about these games, they can't be the new franchise that is yet to be revealed.

So I'm gonna go out on a limb and state this: If they just reveal games linked to Saints Row and Marvel like it's nothing, but keep this as an ace up their sleeve... you know this new franchise is something major. We're assuming a reveal during the Gamescom, which will take place from August 25-27 and which we will cover extensively right here on EarlyGame.

We could do a lot of speculating at this point, but with Take Two games ranging from NBA 2K to GTA to Bioshock, there is no point – this new game could be anything. Well... at least now you know it's coming. Stay tuned for more. You know we got you first.
