Game Awards 2022: New Categories

In addition to major awards such as "Game of the Year" and "Best Achievement," the Game Awards 2022 are introducing a "Best Adaptation" category for the 2022 ceremony. This award will honor the best game-related media in the entertainment industry that adapts material originally from video games.

The Game Awards say it's "a way for the game industry and its fans to tip their hats to creative works that authentically adapt our favorite game series, often giving them a new story and context."

This year's nominees include the Netflix series Resident Evil and the second Sonic movie.

Last year, It Takes Two was named Game of the Year, beating out competitors like Deathloop, Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2 and Resident Evil Village. We are curious to see which games will make it to the top this time...
