It’s already a brand-new year and hopefully, it’ll be much better than the last one (not a big bar to pass, but oh well). Already 2021 is full of exciting new games that we’ve been waiting on for ages. Cross your fingers that their launch won’t be as bad as Cyberpunk 2077!

Let’s take a look at some of the hottest games coming in 2021!

Hitman 3

Release date: January 20, 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows

Hitman 3 is the third installment of the world of assassination reboot for the Hitman series. Developed by IO Interactive, the game will once again take you on a trip around various locations and will most likely wrap up the story.

The game will be out on January 2020 but hold your horses. There’s a downside as Hitman 3 will be exclusive to the Epic Game Store for one year, meaning if you want to play it, that’ll be the only place to get it in 2021. If Epic’s platform doesn’t suit you, you’ll have to wait until January 2022.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood

Release date: February 4, 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is based on the tabletop RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse and takes place in the World of Darkness, same as the Vampire the Masquerade series. The game’s developed by Cyanide Studio which is behind titles like Styx and Call of Cthulhu.

By the looks of it, Earthblood will be a third-person RPG. Whether its focus will be more on lore and character-building or on action remains to be seen. We expect the former since it’s based on the tabletop game but the gameplay above presents it more like a hack-and-slash RPG.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Release date: 2021

Platform(s): Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S

Since we've already mentioned the World of Darkness, there's simply no way we could forget about Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. This will be the third video game in the series with Redemption and Bloodlines before it.

The previous two entries were highly focused on the RPG aspect and we expect no less from the upcoming title.

The game was initially scheduled for a 2020 release but it seems Paradox Interactive wanted to avoid Cyberpunk 2077. It got delayed to March/April 2021 but later got pushed even further down. Hopefully, it'll release this year and it won't have such a disastrous launch as CDPR's RPG.

Far Cry 6

Release date: May 25 (supposedly), 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, Microsoft Windows

The last Far Cry game came out in March 2018, so it's been three years without a new entry. Fans of the franchise have a lot to look forward to. This time, the title will take place on Yara, a fictional Caribbean island ruled as a dictatorship by "El Presidente" Antón Castillo.

He will be portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito, an actor famous for his roles in shows such as Breaking Bad, The Boys, The Mandalorian and many others.

The game's release date is still unclear, with rumors mentioning late May.

Nier Replicant

Release date: April 23, 2021

Platform(s): PS4, Xbox One, and on PC

Replicant will be a remake of the original which was released over a decade ago in 2010 only in Japan. Fans of Nier Automata will get a chance to experience this prequel in just a few months as the game is set for a release on April 23.

In a distant, distant future, humanity is on the brink of extinction.A black scrawl disease and strange beasts threaten the world. A young kindhearted boy makes a promise to his little sister. A thousand-year lie that would live on for eternity... The protagonist is a kind young man living in a remote village. In order to save his sister Yonah, who fell terminally ill to the Black Scrawl, he sets out with Grimoire Weiss, a strange talking tome, to search for the "Sealed verses."

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Release date: 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 5

If you were waiting for a sequel to 2013's Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, it’s finally about to arrive. When? Well, nobody’s sure but it’s bound to be at some point in 2021. Prepare for some serious platforming action.

In addition, the game will be a next-gen title and is rumored to utilize the full capabilities of the PS5. There's no clear release date, so expect it at some point in 2021!

Outriders

Release date: December 2020

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows

Outriders is an upcoming third-person cooperative looter shooter. You’re awakened from cryo-sleep into a post-apocalyptic world that offers a lot of opportunities.

Quite a familiar setting, but will it do a better job than Fallout 76? Yeah, probably.

Deathloop

Release date: May 21, 2021

Platform(s): Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5

Deathloop, the new game from Arkane Studios, looks pretty good. Yeah, that's right, Arkane Studious are the developers behind the Dishonored series. Much like you would expect from Arkane, the multiplayer shooter gives you a variety of different abilities.

Imagine a Dishonored but focusing more on the shooter aspect. The PS5 exclusive title looks promising and it'll supposedly be coming out in May.

God of War: Ragnarok

Release date: 2021

Platform(s): TBA

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY! A new God of War? It has been too long. Kratos became a dad in the 2018 reboot of the God of War series and pretty much everyone loved it. The ending of God of War already promised so much for the future, and we hope God of War: Ragnarok can deliver.

There's no official release date and all we have is the teaser above. Expect the game later this year, though!

Horizon: Forbidden West

Release date: 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5

Horizon: Zero Dawn was one of the best games for the PS4. It featured some nice storytelling combined with fun open-world gameplay and a gorgeous world complete with robot dinosaurs. What's there not to like?

This set the expectations high for the sequel – Horizon Forbidden West. The game is scheduled for release in 2021.

Psychonauts 2

Release date: 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Macintosh operating systems, Xbox Series X and Series S

Psychonauts? Now that's a name we haven't heard in a long time. The first game came out all the way back in 2005. That's 15 years ago! The original put you in the shoes of Rasputin who trained his psychic abilities over the course of the game. Psychonauts 2 was delayed multiple times and was originally supposed to come out in 2020. Since that didn't happen, the next best year is 2021.

By the way, Jack Black will be singing and also doing the voice for one of the characters.

Elden Ring

Release date: 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Series S, Microsoft Windows,

Much like many other games, Elden Ring was delayed. It's an interesting collaboration between fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin (Game of Thrones) and game director Hidetaka Miyazaki (Dark Souls, Bloodborne). We can only guess what the fruit of their labor will be but expectations are already set high.

Sadly, there isn't any news regarding a release date so our best bet is at some point in 2021.

Gotham Knights

Release date: 2021

Platform(s): PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Series S, Microsoft Windows,

You thought you were done with Batman and the Arkham series? Well, technically you're right. Gotham Knights picks off right after the death of the caped crusader. Who'll protect the streets now? How about the whole Batman family – Batgirl, Nightwing, the Red Hood, and Robin?

The game will be all about co-op play and even the combat system will revolve around it. Sure you can play alone but why do that when you have fun with friends? The big nemesis in Gotham Knights will be the Court of Owls and the game will release in 2021. That's all we know.

This sums up some of the most-anticipated games coming in 2021. Did we miss something? Tell us on our Facebook page or Discord server!
