The Witcher 4 is in development, this was confirmed by a job listing made by CD Projekt RED. We have the few details available on The Witcher 4 below.
There was never really any doubt we would get another Witcher game. We all knew that The Witcher 4 was coming and still... this is a hype announcement. Or rather... this is a hype-ass job-posting reveal, but we'll take it either way: The Witcher 4 is in development!
Job Listing More or Less Confirms The Witcher 4
Earlier in the year, CD Projekt RED confirmed that they are working on two new AAA titles. It takes little imagination to come to the assumption that one of these games is The Witcher 4. As for the other, we don't know, but we sure as sh*t know that it's not Cyberpunk 2078.
Now, CD Projekt RED posted a job listing looking for a camera programmer that has "experience in developing real-time third-person perspective cameras". Cyberpunk is a first-person game, leaving only one active CDPR franchise that's AAA and third-person: Yup, the adventures of Geralt, aka... The goddamn Witcher.
The Witcher 3 was released in 2015, so it should be no surprise that a sequel to one of the two greatest RPGs of modern times (the other is Skyrim, in case you're wondering) is in development. In fact, many might be surprised – or rather disappointed – if development is only starting now, since CDPR took 8 years to push out a rushed Cyberpunk 2077. Guess we'll be ready to slay from third-person in 2029, whoop-whoop.
- This right here isn't even all we know on The Witcher 4: The Witcher 4: Everything We Know So Far!
So far, CD Projekt RED have not commented on this matter, but with the investor-promise and this job-listing, we're counting our chickens before they hatch. Sue us.
In case you're doubtful, here's a wild tin-hat theory to sour the party: The job-listing could actually be for a Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mod. There. Go off and sleep with that on your mind.
