Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed Red Will Be The "Biggest Blockbuster For 2024"

Assassin's Creed Red will seemingly release in 2024, according to an Ubisoft employee.

Assassin's Creed Red will be what fans have been dying for since the first Assassin's Creed was published back in 2007: an AC set in feudal Japan. This project was revealed during the Ubisoft Forward 2022 Showcase, known since then as code name Red.

As with the other projects with code names, not much is known about it besides the setting. Now we might at least know the release window.

Assassin's Creed Red: Release In 2024 Hinted At

On LinkedIn, Arisa Lagunzad, an employee for business development and brand partnership at Ubisoft, was looking for sponsorship partners for next year, so 2024. That alone doesn't have to mean anything since according to her, Assassin's Creed is expanding on the multimedia front with even its own Manga series.

But she also called Assassin's Creed Red "the biggest blockbuster for 2024".

Thanks to AccessTheAnimus we still have a screenshot of that since Lagunzad edited the post and there's no mention of the year 2024 anymore. The important part of the original post reads:

We are seeking sponsoring partner for this title Assassin's Creed Codname RED for next year 💖 Assassin's Creed is really expanding the multi-media front, with podcasts and Manga series. Do you want to partner with the biggest blockbuster for 2024?

Since the date was deleted from the original post, this could mean she accidentally spoiled the planned release year for Assassin's Creed Red. Because there was no reaction at all, apart from her editing the original post, the rumors of course started boiling up.

As Ubisoft Quebec, the team behind Assassin's Creed Odyssey (2018), is involved, it seems entirely possible within the timeframe that we can immerse ourselves in feudal Japan as early as next year.

Whether it will be released in 2024 or 2025, we can look forward to a vast open-world, as announced by Ubisoft. In the meantime, we can all look forward to Assassin's Creed Mirage, which promises a return to the roots of the series and is set to release this October.

Another reason to be happy as an Assassin's Creed fan:
