Valorant: Cloud9 Are About To Re-Sign A Former Player

Cloud9 are on the verge of signing a player they had under their belts for more than a year. The NA-based organization are preparing their roster for the next season of the Valorant Champions Tour.

After a disappointing loss to Leviathan at the VCT Last Chance Qualifier, Cloud9 won't be making an appearance in this year's World Championship. When transitioning to Valorant, the North American-based organization had high hopes of becoming a Juggernaut in Riot's first-person shooter. However, things didn't quite go according to plan, leading to a series of roster changes.

Cloud9 Is Set to Re-Sign a Former Player for Their Valorant Roster

In recent days, Cloud9 announced the departure of their Head Coach Matthew “mCe” Elmore, their sixth player Mateja “qpert” Mijovic, and two players from the active roster, namely Jordan “zellsis” Montemurro and Dylan “runi” Cade. This leaves the roster with only three remaining players.

According to a report from blix.gg, former Cloud9 player Anthony “vanity” Malaspina is currently in talks with his former team. vanity is well-known for his skills as a Sentinel and Controller, excelling with agents like Omen and Astra. He will reunite with his former teammate Erick “Xeppaa” Bach.

As per blix.gg, Francis “OXY” Hoang is also set to join Cloud9 alongside vanity. OXY has made a name for himself on G2 with his entry skills while playing agents like Jett and Chamber. Jake “jakee” Anderson, who replaced vanity at Cloud9 in March, will remain part of the C9 roster.

Vanity wore the Cloud9 jersey from August 13, 2021, until March 10, 2023. Following his departure from C9, he briefly joined Shopify Rebellion for three months. After parting ways with Shopify Rebellion in June, he focused on full-time streaming on Twitch.

If the rumors hold true, the Cloud9 roster will feature the following players:

  • Anthony “vanity” Malaspina
  • Francis “OXY” Hoang
  • Mateja “qpert” Mijovic (inactive)
