The platformer Only Up! is the newest hype game on the internet. What is this game all about?
Maybe you have already seen this, a character is running parkour in the sky, using beds to jump onto other objectives and gets higher and higher. Well this new game, called "Only UP!" has taken the internet by storm. Thousands of people gather on the popular streaming platforms to see their favorite streamer climbing onto unusual objectives like bed, autos or turtles.
Or maybe they're gathered to see their favorite streamer miss an important jump, just to fall down several levels, and enjoying the following rage, both is kinda entertaining. But what is Only Up! ?
What is Only Up! ?
Only UP! belongs to the genre of platform games (platformer), which itself is a subgenre of Jump 'n' run games. The goal is kinda easy, move the ingame character from one point of the world to another. In the Case of "Only UP!" your aim is to get as high as possible, duh.
The path upwards consists out of several platforms and a huge amount of random objects, that you wouldn't probably associate with "in the air", like cars, safes or plants. From time to time, you have the opportunity to skip some "levels" by using floating beds.
This is of course a very risky way, since it goes all the way down once you missed the jump. This already provided some nice rages by several streamers, which is kinda entertaining for a certain amount of time. Needless to say that failing clips from influencers such as MoistCr1TiKaL or IShowSpeed are making a massive amount of clicks.

The game has a simple goal: It wants to tilt you as much as possible. So everybody that enjoyed the "ALTF4" game should take a look at this game.
The New Speedrunning Hit
A game like Only UP! is nearly perfect for speed running and has already gathered a significant community behind it. Newest speed running videos on YouTube are gaining hundreds of thousands of clicks and the biggest influencers are reacting to them.
Since the game was just released at the end of March 2023 it's very likely that the community will grow. It will be interesting to see how the developers will handle the new hype around their game and if there's more to come in the future.
