The cancellation of the awaited PvE mode of Overwatch 2 has disappointed many fans. So much so, in fact, that they have created full concepts of what the mode would look like if Blizzard ever released it.
Blizzards plans for an Overwatch 2 PvE mode didn't turn out the way they wanted it to, so they scrapped the project after working on it for several years. Since the PvE dream is not coming to Overwatch 2 anymore, the community is curious about what Blizzard had accomplished in those past years.

Since Blizzard's plans for an Overwatch 2 PvE mode have been scrapped, fans are wondering what it could have looked like. When they announced Overwatch 2, the developers teased us with a so-called “hero mode”, where players would get to upgrade individual heroes through talent trees in a single-player/PvE version of Overwatch.
What most people don't know is that Blizzard had been working on this hero mode since the original Overwatch launched in 2016. The hero mode originates from Blizzards lost child "Project Titan", a planned MMO that was cancelled in 2014 but two years later became the foundation of Overwatch.
Blizzard had been chasing their dream of this hero mode for quite a while now. But considering that it has now died once again, this ship was probably doomed to sink from the start.

What The Overwatch 2 Hero Mode Would Have Looked Like
We all want to know what it was that Blizzard had planned for us. Since the hero mode dream for Overwatch has been shattered, fans have made their own version of it and created a full concept.
Role-Classes & Talent Trees for Doomfist - Some of the cancelled PvE features now could be overhauled and implemented into PvP in order to create more hero flexibility & new layers of gameplay (UX/UI Concept) by u/chillskilled in Overwatch
The fan concept includes three role-classes, for the player to choose from. There is a full talent-tree for Doomfist, where players would be able to unlock different kinds of abilities depending on the role they picked for their hero. The concept looks really thought through and someone definitely put a lot of effort into it.
It would have been a really cool feature in a proper PvE mode, but wouldn't make sense in our current PvP version of Overwatch, since the game's meta is built upon each heroes' fixed abilities and play styles.
