The Wii U will bring back the online modes for Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 after a long period of waiting. Here is everything you need to know.
The Wii U marked a nostalgic era in Nintendo history, with titles such as Splatoon joining the lineup and Mario Kart 8 arguably being one of the best Mario racing games of all time.
With all of this in mind, Nintendo fans were extremely disappointed to find out that the online services for both games shut down back in March of this year. We are now excited to announce that they are back!

The online modes for both of these games came back on August 2, 2023, at 6:00pm Pacific Time, so you only need to update your game, and you'll be all good to go!
There still is one catch – Nintendo might resume to shutting down the service again in the future. If any more problems show up, then they will give a short notice and take it down for an unknown time period again.
