Chivalrous Swordsman Dual Swords

The Chivalrous Swordsman Dual Swords are currently the strongest weapons in the game and are very powerful.

The gameplay of Wo Long encourages fast-paced combat where the player must engage with bosses up close, build up Spirit, deal heavy damage, and master the deflection system.

The Chivalrous Dual Swords can deliver rapid blows and their swift attacks make it easy to interrupt a combo to deflect or block an incoming attack. The weapon's Martial Arts attacks can also stack well with Flame damage.

This is how you get it:

  • Reward for initial completion of the mission: Darkness Over the Hanshui River
  • Can be found during The Flying Swallow of Heishan
  • Can be found during Fall of the Corrupted Eunuch

Bronze Poleaxe

The Bronze Poleaxe is a slower but more powerful version of the Cavalry Javelin with solid crowd-control capabilities.

However, its Deflect Difficulty is less forgiving and it sacrifices some mobility for better Base and Spirit attack numbers.

This is how you get it:

  • Reward for initial completion of the mission: Massacre of Meiwu Fort
  • Can be found during The Valley of the Crying Wraiths

Ring Pommel Sabre

The Ring Pommel Sabre is a viable weapon to use throughout Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

Main Weapon Properties

In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, every weapon has distinct attributes that determine its effectiveness in various combat situations.

These properties include Attack Power, which determines the amount of HP the enemy loses when hit with the weapon, and is influenced by the weapon's scaling based on the Five Phases and the investment made in each Virtue.

The Base Attack is the starting Attack Power of the weapon, which can be modified by the Virtue investment and the weapon's Virtue Scaling to produce the Attack Power statistic.

Additionally, the Spirit Attack attribute determines how much Spirit an enemy loses when hit by the weapon, while Sustain Break indicates the amount of Spirit an enemy loses when they block attacks with the weapon.

Finally, the Sustain attribute specifies the amount of Spirit the player loses when they defend against attacks using the weapon.

Wo Long Weapon Rarity

Each weapon in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty comes with a Star Rating that denotes its rarity, with a scale ranging from one to five stars.

The rating is represented by stars, with one star being the lowest and five stars the highest.

The star rating determines the quality of the weapon, with higher Rarity indicating better quality.

Typically, rarer weapons will have more valuable Weapon Traits and two Martial Arts skills (applicable only to Melee Weapons), making them more powerful than less rare weapons.

However, a weapon's rarity typically does not affect its parameters, only the number of Special Effects it may possess.

Weapon Upgrades

In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, every piece of gear, including weapons and armor, has a variety of base stats associated with it.

For weapons, these include Base Attack and Attack Power, which determine the amount of damage you deal to enemies, as well as Attack Bonuses from Five Phases Virtues, which are bonuses that increase your damage output and are obtained by leveling up.

Additionally, weapons have Spirit stats, which determine how much Spirit you lose when blocking or deflecting attacks, as well as how much Spirit an enemy loses when you hit them. For armor, the base stats include Defense, which determines how much damage you take when hit, as well as Physical Resistance, a modifier that affects physical attacks, and Spirit Defense, which determines how much Spirit you lose when hit.

Armor also has Resistances, which are bonuses or penalties to elemental damage from the Five Phases. The rarity of a piece of gear is indicated by the number of stars it has, with rarer items having more stars.

While higher rarity items can have additional Special Effects, such as bonuses to damage output or increased copper yield, the base stats of an item remain the same regardless of its rarity.

However, weapons with higher rarity may have additional Martial Arts, which are special attacks that can be performed by pressing RB + X/square or Y/triangle.

Upgrading a piece of gear can improve its base stats, such as Base Attack, Attack Power, and Defense, but does not change its rarity or add new Special Effects.

The upgraded item will have a plus sign and a number added to its name, such as a Bronze Sword becoming a Bronze Sword +1. While an upgraded item will have better base stats than an un-upgraded item, it may have fewer Special Effects.

Weapon Attack Bonus & Scaling

A Weapon's Scaling is determined by the amount of Attack Power it adds based on your investment in each of the Five Phases' Virtues.

It is ranked with a letter grade and a plus or minus sign.

For example, a weapon with a B+ Scaling in the Earth Virtue will provide a greater Attack Power boost based on your Earth Virtue investment compared to a weapon with a C- Scaling in the same stat.

Essentially, a higher letter grade indicates more damage dealt by investing in the corresponding Virtue.

Weapons can have scaling for multiple Virtues with varying degrees, allowing for effective builds by investing in Virtues that provide the most damage boosts corresponding to the weapon of choice, or by selecting weapons that correspond to the current build.

A Weapon's scaling can improve based on the number of +Upgrade Levels it has.

Weapon Special Effects

Each Weapon possesses distinct Special Effects that enhance its performance. These effects are categorized into two types: Martial Arts and Weapon Traits.

  • Martial Arts refer to unique active abilities that inflict significant damage on enemies, but deplete the Spirit Gauge. Some Martial Arts offer additional features such as dodging, countering certain attacks, or enabling the player to withdraw after delivering damage.

Each Melee Weapon includes at least one Martial Arts skill, randomly selected based on the weapon type, with higher Rarity weapons having up to two. Martial Arts are generated randomly for looted Weapons. Ranged Weapons and Thrown Weapons do not possess Martial Arts.

  • Weapons can also include Weapon Traits, which provide passive bonuses that modify various Stats or add more features to their attacks, such as increasing the damage dealt by basic combos or improving critical hit chance in different situations.

A weapon's Rarity determines the number of traits it can possess, with the rarest weapons having multiple traits compared to more common weapons. All traits are generated randomly for looted Weapons.
