WoW Shadowlands is finally here! After delays and speculation, we will finally enter the Shadowlands! Today, we look at the Kyrian Covenant and help you consider what your starting Covenant should be. What signature ability, dungeon bonuses, rewards and other features appeal to you the most? Let’s take a look at everything The Kyrian has to offer.

After being delayed one month due to Blizzard feeling the next WoW expansion needed some more polish, WoW Shadowlands is finally here! Shadowlands will have four Covenants to choose from and each one comes with a list of unique rewards and abilities. You may only choose one, and changing Covenants comes with costs and time gating. Will you make your choice based on class, rewards, or lore? Let’s look at the signature abilities to help you make said choice easier. Remember, you have to reach the max level in Shadowlands before you can choose.

Covenant Signature Abilities

Kyrian: Summon Steward

  • Call your steward to bring you a Phial of Serenity that can be consumed to restore 20% of your health and remove all curse, disease, poison, and bleed effects.
  • Your steward additionally offers access to a selection of useful amenities for 4 minutes with instant cast and 5 min cooldown.

A strong choice, if you are tanking or are mostly playing solo. It is also useful for any raid team, if at least one person has it.

Dungeon Bonuses

If you choose Kyrian you will have access to a special ability inside the dungeons of the Necrotic Wake and the Spires of Acsension.

Inside the Necroctice Wastes, you get access to the ability to pilot an abandoned Kyrian goliath. When you summon your Kyrian steward, it will reactivate and you can control the goliath and crush your foes! Finally, in the Spire of Ascension dungeon, you can find the Spear of Destiny, which you can pick up and throw at enemies to damage and stun them. Still need more to make your choice? Well, let's continue on with the rewards.

Kyrian Rewards

If you choose the Kyrian as your Covenant, expect to get a full transmog set and a matching mount as your main reward. There are 40 levels of renown to reach, which are earned through quests, and each level offers a new bonus or reward. Everything from toys, weapon illusions and soul binds upgrades are there for you to unlock.

Kyrian Soulbinds

Pick between Mikanikos, Kelia or Pelagos to be your Kyrian mentor to Soulbinds. Each mentor offers a different choice on how your class will be played in the Shadowlands. There is a very long list of Soulbinds that go along with each specific class and spec, so choose your Covenant carefully. Will you pick your Covenant for power in raids, open-world or dungeons? The choice is yours to make. Or maybe you'll pick Kyrian because you simply want access to Ruffle!

If you care more about character power, we suggest you use this talent calculator that shows you the different Soulbinds for each spec and class. Here, you can find out exactly what the Kyrian has to offer your Affliction Warlock or your Brewmaster Monk. Whatever class you play, we highly suggest considering the Soulbinds each Covenant has to offer. Or you could just say, "screw it, give me the coolest rewards and leave the min/maxing to the tryhards!" We leave the choice to you!

Enjoy your time in the Shadowlands. EarlyGame will be back with the Venthyr, Necolords and the Night Fae Covenants, to see what they have to offer.
