With the delay of WoW: Shadowlands, Blizzard didn't make any friends. Now the new release date is set and unfortunately, we will have to be patient for a while.
WoW: Shadowlands has been on everyone's lips for months. With the new expansion, changes of almost biblical proportions are to come, including the reduction of the maximum level from 120 to 60. The long-awaited release was supposed to happen on October 27 but was postponed by Blizzard at the beginning of the month. Now Shadowlands is scheduled to come online on November 23 (or more like 24 since it'll be midnight)!

The reason for the delay was the seemingly unfinished fine-tuning. The release would simply have been too early to deliver an ideal gaming experience. Apparently, some bugs had been found during the beta test for the final game.
In a statement on the official website, Executive Producer John Hight writes:
On behalf of the entire World of Warcraft team, I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank-you for your patience as we’ve continued to work on Shadowlands, and for all of the words of support after we made the tough decision to delay the game. Today, I’m happy to share that the expansion will be arriving November 24 at midnight CET.
Information about the pre-event and the first raid was also announced. The former will be called "Flood of the Scourge" and will let you fight against a swarm of undead from November 11 on. Starting December 9, you can go to Nathria Castle and enjoy the first Shadowlands raid to the fullest. That is if there aren't any more delays this year.

Currently, the pre-patch of Shadowlands is running on the live servers, which will prepare you step by step for the new expansion. In view of the extensive changes, postponing the first date is quite legitimate, after all, we don't want to have to deal with numerous bugs in the new add-on.
