Xbox Game Pass's official Twitter account have shared a photo of a child playing an Xbox game, but wait for it: they were using a PlayStation Controller. Not the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller but the Playstation 4's DualShock controller. Still, it's certainly a start for Xbox. Details below.
Microsoft and Sony - the powerhouses that have defined an industry - are finally coming to terms with one another. They've been battling it out for two decades now. But as the brands grow out of their adolescence they become more cooperative by the day.
Perhaps we're only living through a ceasefire, or perhaps, these are the peace negotiations that will lead to the withdrawal of troops. Truly, a new dawn. One dares to dream about Halo Infinite coming to PlayStation 5. But for now, at least we have this - we have DualShock controller support for the Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Game Pass's Tweet
Maybe I'm too optimistic in seeing this Tweet as an olive branch, but a greater partnership between Sony and Microsoft can only be a good thing for the gamers, take a look for yourself to judge how friendly it is:
Look at this photograph it's one of our cloud gaming ads Do you see what's in those hands? It's a controller from a different brand pic.twitter.com/K1nBk7GmOB

The Xbox Tweet doesn't say it explicitly but it's quite obvious, and it's a feature the community has been asking for.
Owners of PS5 controllers may have to wait a little longer for Xbox Game Pass support though. If that were possible, it would have been showcased. At present PS5 users need to use Steam's 3rd party controller support, a clumsy solution at the best of times.
We should add, some fans were replying to the Tweet thinking it meant even bigger news was possibly coming, but this is unlikely. And it wouldn't have been delivered that way - as a cryptic Tweet - if it really was meant to suggest something more significant it would have been revealed at one of the big summer conferences.
