Assassin’s Creed Mirage will soon get a free update to introduce the much-desired additions of New Game Plus and a permadeath mode to the game.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was a successful, if uninspired return to the roots of the series. One of its standout features was its shorter length: after a trilogy of gigantic games with Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, a playtime of around 20-30 hours was a welcome breath of fresh air.
In case players didn’t get enough of Baghdad, they’ll soon have two reasons to come back to Mirage, as Ubisoft is about to add a permadeath mode as well as the popular New Game + mode.
AC Mirage: New Game Plus & Permadeath Modes Coming In December
Both modes are set to come to the game in a free update in December, according to Ubisoft’s official announcement on X/Twitter. When exactly we can expect the update is unclear so far.
We hear you: New Game + mode for Assassin's Creed Mirage will be available in a free update this December. And for the expert Assassins, along with NG+ will come an optional permadeath mode also available across all difficulties! More details to come soon. pic.twitter.com/Uwq23pK8mY

The permadeath mode will do what the name says: you die once and your whole save is kaput. Exciting! And potentially very frustrating. If you think AC games are too easy, this could be just the spice you might need.
Ubisoft hasn’t detailed how the New Game Plus in AC Mirage will work. In general, this mode allows you to start the game again, while keeping certain unlocks from your first playthrough. In AC Mirage, this could encompass skills, outfits and gear.
