Diablo 3 season 3 has finally been unveiled: Season of the Construct starts next week, and the crowd goes mild. But at least a new movement option has fans excited.
Blizzard has finally revealed that season 3 of Diablo 4 will be called Season of the Construct and what fans can expect from it once it launches on January 23. As usual, players will get a new questline, a fresh battle pass, new dungeons, bosses, items, a big new patch, and much more.
Diablo fans are known for complaining a lot about the game, and often for good reasons. Some of the new features have been received positively after the announcement, but only one change to the game’s PC version seems to be universally celebrated.
Diablo 4 Season 3 Announcement Leaves (Most) Fans Underwhelmed
The season’s new storyline will be mainly set in Kehijistan and revolve around the demon Malphas, who has taken control of Kallle’s secret lab and let constructs loose on the world. Quasi-mechs in Diablo? Why not! One of these robotic rascals is actually the season’s main gimmick: a robot spider called Seneschal, which will function as your companion.
PC players can look forward to a special new addition, as WASD movement will be introduced with Diablo 4 season 3. So far, keyboard and mouse controls only supported click-to-move. Players will soon have an additional option which could make the gameplay feel more direct and impactful.
Considering that this addition apparently merited multiple posts on the game’s subreddit, including one of the most upvoted posts of the day, it is safe to say that this is one of the few changes that is universally beloved.
WASD is here. Finally. (it's not mandatory if you don't like it, keep using click-to-move). by u/Chocookiez in diablo4
Outside of that, you will find a lot of criticisms and complaints, as usual. One user summarized the general mood quite well with this comment: “This feels very underwhelming but maybe it’ll surprise us”. You can see further details on everything coming to Diablo 4 with Season of the Construct on the official Blizzard website.
Previously, fans were worried about the lack of information so close to the release of season 3. Whether Season of the Construct can appease the perpetually disappointed fan base is still up in the air.
